Raising funds for Ashgate Hospice

Tracy Wilson, Manager at Junction 29, is a keen fund raiser.  After her father died of pancreatic cancer Tracy felt she wanted to give something back, so she walked 8 miles a day for a whole month to raise funds for a charity that supports people with pancreatic cancer.

Then, in September this year, Tracy joined a group of staff from Junction 29 on The Sparkle Night Walk - a ten kilometer walk around Chesterfield to raise funds for Ashgate Hospice – an organization that provides palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses.

“It was Debbie who suggested we do the Sparkle Walk," said Tracy, "and I was all for it. Our team really entered into the spirit of the event, proudly sporting flashing bunny ears! There was a great atmosphere and we really enjoyed it. I also think it was good for us to walk together as a team to raise funds for such a worthy cause. We raised over £250 and since this went so well we have all booked in to do the walk again next year!”
