Raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support

Every year thousands of people take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity is dedicated to helping people living with cancer, a topic close to the hearts of two of our colleagues, Sandra and Allan Hall. So every year they take on the job of running the event at Ulceby Truckstop.

They put all their energy into setting up and running the event (including a tombola and a raffle) and getting everyone to bake and donate cakes to sell - all done in their own time.

Sandra said, “Staff donated cakes and biscuits and Chef Julie came up trumps as she always does. The drivers were all so generous, and Onroute contributed £200, so we ended up with a total of £632.24 to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support. It’s such a worthy cause, we were absolutely delighted.”

War veteran Allan is also collecting for the Poppy Appeal at Ulceby.
